The Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing together with Bucks University will be presenting a sell-out evening meeting at the Galadari Hotel themed ‘Is the Party Over’? The event will feature the 2012 winners of the Association of Businesses and Chief Marketing officers (CMO) Congress in Singapore that brought honour to Sri Lanka in the fields of marketing and business leadership.
The topic of debate will be that some say the party is over post the war and we are just entering a future that is uncertain, an environment with inadequate information for decision making, and constant change due to the global economic down turn will be shared by the business personalities and to cap it off is the new ethos globally of a business having to work in a political economy will be discussed. SLIM-Bucks Alumnai President Pradeep Edward said that given that AC Nielsen the top respected research company has reported that the Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) of Sri Lanka continues to decline, registering a 12 month low basis point of 65 and the fourth straight fall in a row, in the first quarter of 2012 we thought of staging the above evening meeting so that we can un-earth the different options that are being practiced in the market place. The Chairman of the Project Priyantha Neelawla of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing commented that the evening meeting being a sell out means that the event is an opportune discussion for today’s business and thanks the CMO award winners for obliging to participate.
