Jobs4thebest.lk, an interactive online career portal, was recently launched in Sri Lanka, being the first career web site with an online live video interview facility. The portal can also be accessed through jobs4thebest.com, jobsforthebest.lk and jobsforthebest.com URLs.

An innovation by wwwdesign, a web design, development and hosting company operating in Australia, the portal allows any registered employer to screen and recruit suitable employees through a matter of a click. This method saves transport, time, setting up the interview location etc. resulting in saving unnecessary expenses for the Employer and the employee.

Elaborating further wwwdesign (Pvt) Ltd. Director/CEO Sumith Goonetilleke said: “The website aims to address unemployment as it is one of the key concerns in Sri Lanka. It is very difficult to find a suitable employee by merely advertising a vacancy. We decided to introduce screening mechanisms for the prospective employee, through setting up a questionnaire which will help screen the suitable candidate for the available position. Therefore employers won’t need to waste their valuable time going through every application. Employers can invite any employee for an online interview to be held at any time suitable for both parties; both parties can attend the interview from anywhere, thus creating a social recruitment experience.”

Vacancies can be submitted by registered employers at any time. This includes advertisement editing and content generation through an easy to use Employer Content Management System (CMS). Registered users will be able to pay through online credit card transactions under three levels of membership ranging from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 3,000.
