Telecommunication and Information Technology Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya has assured that the government would provide a solution to every graduate and grant employment to all graduates in the country.
Addressing a ceremony organized by a graduates association in Kegalle, the Minister has said the government has so far granted employment to 50,000 graduates despite initial beliefs that only 15,000 would be recruited.
Noting that no other country in the world has granted employment to such a large number of graduates, the Minister has explained that graduates would be granted state employment according to their year of graduation.
According to Siyambalapitiya, the graduates have been given the freedom of selecting the field they would like to follow by the government and therefore would be granted employment.
Meanwhile, unemployed graduates are currently engaged in protest campaigns calling on the government to grant them employment.
