Seylan Bank felicitates victorious trade quiz team

The Chairman and the Senior Management of Seylan Bank felicitated the bank’s quiz team members in recognition of their outstanding performance during the year 2011.

The five-member strong Seylan Bank Team emerged champions at the inaugural quiz competition for the Governor’s Challenge Trophy for Global Commerce Excellence.

Hailed as the “most prestigious and coveted trophy for mind sport in Sri Lanka,” this event attracted a record 50 teams both from Sri Lanka and overseas. The Team comprised of K. Shanaka C. Perera, (Treasury/Dealing Room), Brian Joseph (Treasury/Dealing Room), Illanko Kathiravelupillai (Imports Division), Subhani Amaraweera (Branches) and Nimesh Dissanayake (Treasury Back Office).

During the year the Seylan Bank Quiz Team also emerged Champions at the Interbank Trade Quiz organized by the Trade Finance Association of Bankers of Sri Lanka for the fourth consecutive year where the B team was placed 2nd runner-up, also emerging as the best quiz team among financial institutions at the ‘Wisdom Ultimate Quiz Challenge’ for the fourth occasion and emerging as the joint second runner-up with the Bank’s B team at the Interbank Quiz.
