The Academy for Administrative Professionals is now geared to host its annual residential seminar for the 11th consecutive year on 9, 10 and 11 October, at Araliya Green Hills, Nuwara Eliya. An exciting program highlighting knowledge enhancement, skills development and self upliftment together with educational excursion which is a regular feature of the AAP residential seminar, has been planned by the organisers. However, AAP regrets the inability of opening the seminar to the public, as the targeted participants were registered even before the closing date.
‘Self Empowerment for Administrative Professionals’ is the theme chosen this year for the seminar/workshop. Dr. B.M.K. Perera, Dr. Jayalth Edirisinghe, United Nations Information Centre officials, S. Vijaypala and experts in the hospitality industry will serve as the resource hub. In addition to the keynote on the theme, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Attitude Blow, Organisational Development, Self Satisfaction, Interoffice Relationships, Working with Mixed Generations, Stress Management, Time Management, International Relations, Dining Etiquette and Road Safety are other areas lined up for discussion.
AAP Executive Director Sunethra Nugawela said that the 11th residential seminar is unique in every aspect and the issuance of Life Insurance Policy to AAP members in conjunction with Sri Lanka Insurance, will be a very salient feature at this occasion. In fact first of its kind specially designed for administrative professionals.
The two-night, three-day workshop is full of innovative concepts. This event will establish a platform for the participants to explore on social etiquette, event management, public speaking, designing, planning and presentation experiences.
Social events are planned with theme nights to exhibit hidden talents of the participants.
Team Leader Kamani Walisinghe together with her team has designed a series of entertainment and a galore of prizes and surprises for the participants. “We are confident of our product and we leave the rest of the program to be evaluated by the participants,” she said.
