Samitha appointed Director of Ceylinco Healthcare Services

Ceylinco Healthcare Services Limited (CHSL), a fully-owned subsidiary of Sri Lanka’s life insurance leader Ceylinco Life, has announced the appointment of marketing and management professional Samitha Hemachandra, to the company’s Board of Directors with effect from December 2011.

Hemachandra currently serves as the Head of Marketing at Ceylinco Healthcare Services and is Senior Assistant General Manager – Marketing at Ceylinco Life.

Recognised as the ‘Brand Champion’ at the SLIM Brand Excellence Awards on three occasions for his contribution to the Ceylinco Life brand, which has also been adjudged the Brand of the Year and Service Brand of the Year at these awards, Hemachandra possesses extensive experience of more than 17 years in Sales Management, Brand Management, Customer Relationship Management and Marketing Management.

A member of the team involved in setting up the pioneering Radiation Treatment Unit of Ceylinco Healthcare Services, he has played a central role in designing, developing and implementing numerous successful integrated marketing communications campaigns for Ceylinco Healthcare Services and Ceylinco Life.

Hemachandra holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Western Sydney and is a Fellow and Chartered Marketer of CIM – UK.

“This appointment positions Hemachandra to make an even greater contribution towards the aspirations of Ceylinco Healthcare Services,” the company’s Chairman R. Renganathan said, adding, “He brings further professionalism to the Board of the company which already benefits from the expertise of many proficient and knowledgeable individuals of proven calibre.”

The appointment of Hemachandra follows that of Dr. Sarath Abeyakoon, one of Sri Lanka’s most senior medical professionals in the field of Oncology, to the Board of Ceylinco Healthcare services last year.

Ceylinco Healthcare Services operates the state-of-the-art Ceylinco Radiation Treatment Centre which houses the country’s first Linear Accelerator used to perform IMRT treatment, the Ceylinco Healthcare Centre and the Ceylinco Diabetes Centre, which offer comprehensive medical care in a comfortable and non-hospital atmosphere.
