Rusara Seneviratne, a teacher trainee at Nirodha Trust (www.nirodhatrust.org), recently became the first student of Scholarships for USA (Pvt) Ltd. (www.scholarshipsforusa.com) to be placed at Hawaii Pacific University (www.hpu.edu).

Rusara from a young age has been practicing meditation which she believes contributed immensely to her excellent London O-Levels. Currently awaiting her Advanced Subsidiary (AS) Level results, Rusara secured the maximum international scholarship valued at $ 40,000 based on her O-Levels and impressive SAT score. Vipassana Hawaii, an organisation with many hundreds of practicing yogis and affiliated to Nirodha Trust, also offered a very generous sponsorship towards Rusara’s educational expenses.

Rusara aims to major in biology and to enter medical school to become a brain surgeon. Apart from academic pursuit and securing summer internships, Rusara also plans to work closely with Vipassana Hawaii conducting classes and organising retreats.

As per a US News and World report, Hawaii’s largest private university is ranked among the tier one colleges and universities in the West region and among the best colleges 2011.

Dhammaruwan Senev-iratne, Rusara’s dad and the main teacher at Nirodha Trust, said he was very impressed with the professionalism, commitment and the care shown by Scholarships for USA.

“They gave us many choices in the shortest possible time and all we had to do was select the most favourable. Rusara has been assured credit transfers for every A and B at her AS levels and she is likely to graduate two years ahead of her contemporaries in Sri Lanka. Their relationships with partners are amazingly strong and they could elicit responses within hours.

They not only saved me lots of money, but made a wholly cumbersome and tortuous journey so pleasant and light,” he added. Rusara is an alumna of Gateway International and Asian International. Padmasena Dissanayake of SUSA too joined Dhammaruwan to wish Rusara.
