Marketing guru Prof. Uditha Liyanage was recently made the first Sri Lankan Honorary Fellow of the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM), the country’s national apex marketing body, in recognition of his achievements in academia and extraordinary contribution to the marketing fraternity in terms of setting the ground rules right with a good balance of local and modern thinking.
SLIM President Rohan Somawansa said, “Prof. Liyanage is a marketer who designs, implements and promotes best practices of marketing at national level and is perceived by the marketing fraternity as a marketing guru for carving out an identity of his own.”
He is a Marketing Consultant and is on the boards of directors of number of leading companies in Sri Lanka, and a member of the Board of Study of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Sri Lanka, and the National Institute of Business Management (NIBM). He was also the Chairman of CIM Sri Lanka region, and a member of the international board of CIM.
Prof. Liyanage is currently the Director of PIM and the Chairman of the Institute’s Board of Management. He is also the Professor of Management of the Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM), University of Sri Jayewardenepura and Adjunct Professor of Management of the University of Canberra, Australia.
