As a unique first in whole Asia, the MBA in Taxation (MBAT) exclusively designed for the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) saw another milestone with the commencement of its second batch at the Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM).
At the inauguration held recently, Commissioner General of Inland Revenue Kalyani Dahanayake emphasised that this program has enhanced the managerial and taxation capabilities of the officials and in turn contributed to better administration and higher performance of the department.
PIM Director Prof. Ajantha Dharmasiri assured that the program will enhance the competence and confidence of the participants with a broad impact on socio-economic wellbeing of the nation.
The new batch consists of 60 assistant commissioners of the IRD. The MBAT was made a reality as a result of the MOU that was signed in early 2015 between the PIM and the IRD.
