New Chancellor at Ruhuna Uni

The official welcome ceremony of the newly-appointed Chancellor of University of Ruhuna, Rajakeeya Pandith Most Venerable Pallaththara Sumanajothi Nayaka Thero, will be held today, 8 February, from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Auditorium, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Ruhuna, Wellamadama, Matara. The University of Ruhuna was established by a Special Presidential Decree on 1 September 1978, as Ruhuna University College, fulfilling a long-cherished desire of the people of southern Sri Lanka.

The University of Ruhuna is the only academic and research centre in the Southern Province. The University of Ruhuna consists of seven faculties – Agriculture, Engineering, Fisheries and Marine Sciences and Technology, Humanities and Social Sciences, Management and Finance, Medicine and Science.
