The Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM) inaugurated its MBA program 2013/14 in December 2012. The student-managers who qualified to follow the Institute’s premier MBA program successfully completed a written test and an interview.
Almost all of the selected candidates are from the private sector and are middle to senior level managers in a number of disciplines of management.ZThe Guest of Honour at the inauguration of the MBA program was Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratunga, PIM Director Prof. Uditha Liyanage, Dr. Wickrema Weerasooria, Dr. Travis Perera and Dr. Ajantha Dharmasiri of the Institute’s faculty also addressed the gathering.
PIM pioneered the MBA program in Sri Lanka over 25 years ago, and continues to offer the leading MBA program in Sri Lanka. PIM offers its new MBA program that is aimed at developing five key competencies in a challenging, yet enjoyable setting, that enables its participants to strike the vital work-life-learn balance.
The program focuses on the following competencies
PIM’s MBA program has been re-engineered, based on the Institute’s experience of conducting the program for over 25 years and the emerging needs of today’s competitive local and global markets.
The program spans a period of two years and moves logically and sequentially from courses on Management Foundations to Integrative Studies, followed by Elective Courses and Research Paper/Project.
MBA is structured on robust theoretical foundations and immediate practical applications. Action-learning that is facilitated by assignments and project work, helps students to relate the cutting-edge knowledge they gather to their world-of-work.
The new program is designed to help the busy working manager.
