A one-day workshop targeting managers who work directly with the public will be held on 12 November at the Nawaloka Hospital premises. The topic of the workshop is ‘Planning and Execution with Mindfulness’.
Mindfulness programs are widely conducted for staff of hospitals, and private and government organisations in countries such as the US, UK, Canada, and Australia. These programs are aimed to specifically enhance staff performance and deliver care within a humane corporate culture. The program at Nawaloka will be the first such program on mindfulness conducted for hospital staff in Sri Lanka.
Mindfulness programs have proven to be effective in reducing stress and improving emotional intelligence, building resilience, enhancing creativity and happiness of the staff of hospitals and organisations.
The pogram will be conducted by Aruna Manatunge, an experienced practitioner of mindfulness.
