The names of Amila Jayasinghi and Chethika Abenayake resounded in the hall during the Cept University's sixth convocation on Saturday.

The Sri Lankan couple, which studies in Faculty of Planning and Public Policy at CEPT, bagged a total of eight gold medals.

Of the total, Jayasinghi bagged six gold medals for his performance during the two-year course in Infrastructure Planning. Abenayeke got two for excellence in environmental planning.

The two hail from Kegale, and used to work at the University of Moratuwa in Sri Lanka.  Talking to DNA, they both found their academic experience at the Cept pleasant. They also talked about the difference between the education system here and that at their mother land. "The system here is pretty flexible, and the faculty is really supportive. We got an opportunity to gain knowledge on a variety of subjects," they beamed.  Sharing their plans for the future, they said they are looking forward to pursuing their doctoral degree, but plan to return to Sri Lanka to serve their mother land.
