A salient feature of the arrangement will be the setting up of an Endowed KPMG Professor of Accounting Post in the Department of Accounting at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. The move makes formal an already strong relationship shared between the two establishments and further enhances KPMG’s commitment towards promoting education and knowledge empowerment. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed between University of Sri Jayewardenepura Vice Chancellor Dr. N. L. A. Karunaratne and Sri Lanka KPMG Managing Partner Reyaz Mihular, in the presence of the Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce of the University, Professor Sampath Amaratunga and KPMG Partner – People, Performance and Culture Yohan Perera. Also present at the occasion were Head of the Department of Accounting of the University Professor Samanthi Senaratne, KPMG Partner Chamara Abeyrathne and KPMG Manager – Human Resources Aruna Rajapakse.
