Over past 25 years Japan Sri Lanka Technical and Cultural Association (JASTECA) has been in the forefront in assisting Sri Lankan managers and executives to develop their managerial and technical skills.
Over 3,000 Sri Lankan managers have been benefitted by way of scholarships awarded by JASTECA to Japan with the courtesy of the parent body, the Overseas Human Resources and Industry Development Association (HIDA) Japan. Several Sri Lankan companies have been assisted by JASTECA to develop managerial and process techniques.
JASTECA Institute of Management (JIM) is the Training and Development arm of JASTECA which carries out skills development programs locally which is actively engaged in servicing the Corporate Sector in Sri Lanka
The JASTECA Institute of Management will conduct a three-day training course from 31 May to 2 June on JUKI Production Management for production managers and executives in the garment industry. This program will be carried out with the kind courtesy of JUKI Singapore Pte Ltd. and their agents in Sri Lanka JK Agencies Pvt. Ltd. Objective of the program is to improve the quality of sewing and increase productivity in Garment Factories and is basically meant for managers and executives who are actively involved in the shop floor.
The program will cover the following important aspects; Operation Analysis: Method of analysing the actual situation in a factory (allowance rate) through operation rate research. Time Study: Method of determining bottle necks in the production lines. Motion Study: Methods on how to improve production (KAIZEN).
Production Design: Method of planning a sewing production system, arranging people, machinery, equipment and materials in terms of time and space. JIM conducts various evening lectures and day courses to assist Sri Lankan Managers and Executives.
