ISMM showcases success stories

The Institute of Supply and Materials Management (ISMM) marked yet another milestone in their journey by conducting the first ever ‘Success Story Competition’ recently. The competition is a platform for the students and members of the ISMM to showcase their unpublished and duly recognised behind the screen achievements in their respective workplaces, resulting from the outcomes of the courses and programs conducted by the ISMM.

ISMM, as the pioneering institute in Sri Lanka for supply chain management, initiated this contest to recognise the great efforts unleashed by the students and members to be future professional leaders in the SCM arena.

The contest was conducted separately for its students from DPMM, GDPSCM, MLS, corporate members and the participants, where they had to submit a case as per the guidelines given by the institute, followed by individual presentations for selected cases.

All the selected success stories will be published in ISMM newsletters, journals, the website and other publications distributed worldwide as part of the competition.

The 2013 Success Story Competition produced two winners for the member and student category and a runner-up in the member category – Member Category winner was Unilever Sri Lanka Customer Service Director Gayani De Alwis, Student Category winner was Logiwiz Key Account Executive L. Yohan Gomes and Member Category runner-up was Coats Thread Exports Procurement and Warehousing Manager P. Asitha Vibuthi Costa.

Presentation of certificates to the winners of the ISMM Success Story Competition was conducted at the ISMM’s annual general meeting held at the OPA Auditorium. The event was graced by past presidents of ISMM, the Council of Management, Fellows, members and invitees.

ISMM announced that this event will be a flagship event in their annual calendar and the institute looks forward to showcase as many success stories of their students and members on their significant achievements and demonstrate the talents and capabilities through this program in future.
