ISMM President Anil Ponweera honoured with MBA from Australia

Institute of Supply and Materials Management Sri Lanka (ISMM) President Anil Ponweera recently completed his Master’s in Business Administration from AIB Australia which is ranked as 10th in Global rankings.

He hails from Ananda College Colombo and had his professional qualifications from ISMM having won gold prize becoming the batch top in the 1995/1998 batch of Diploma in Purchasing and Materials Management. He was the first Sri Lankan Trainer to obtain the International Diploma in Supply Chain Management in 2004 from International Trade Centre in Geneva. He has undergone many ITC/UN/WTO sponsored Train the Trainer (TOT) programs and a lead trainer in MLS programs conducted by ISMM today. His 33 years hands on local and foreign exposure in Supply Chain Management has given many opportunities for him to rise up in his carrier and currently he is the Manager Materials and Logistics in SriLankan Airlines the national carrier. The most recent achievement was for him to have the MBA from AIB with 5 Distinctions and 5 Credits and have obtained 88 marks (High Distinction) the highest marks achieved so far by a Sri Lankan student for his research topic on the subject; ‘An evaluation of inconsistencies in supply and possible improvements to the supply chain’.
