IPS held a workshop and interactive dialogue -“IPS University Forum” – with over fifty undergraduates and lecturers from Universities across the country, during 21 – 23 March 2012, at the IPS Auditorium.
The IPS, Sri Lanka’s premier socioeconomic policy think-tank, is continuously looking to reach out to diverse stakeholders and take its insights on socioeconomic development issues to broader audiences. As part of this effort and in an attempt to forge collaborative linkages between policy and academic research, IPS has, over the years, engaged with several Universities in Sri Lanka.
The event provided an opportunity for the participants to learn, share, collaborate and network with each other, with IPS and with experts in the field of socioeconomic development. Specifically, this Forum facilitated access to IPS economists and other leading development experts, opportunities for collaborative research, mentoring by IPS researchers on future projects/dissertations, an opportunity to learn about new media tools for research, and opportunities for internships.
