The CISI’s Global Business Development Director Kevin Moore, Chartered MCSI visited Sri Lanka to host multiple workshops on Integrity at Work amongst university students.
Multiple Integrity at Work workshops were recently conducted at two of Sri Lanka’s renowned state universities: the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and the University of Kelaniya. These highlighted the CISI’s commitment to upholding the highest standards of integrity and ethical behavior in the financial services industry, and attracted more than 200 students.
Students and members of CISI were also present at a workshop conducted at Sri Lanka’s largest Accredited Training Partner, Lanka BPO Academy.
The CISI believes that integrity is a key component of professionalism, defined as the effective combination of knowledge, skills and behaviour. In each of these areas the CISI has developed products and services where the highest standards of integrity are embedded and regularly tested.
Students were encouraged to uphold honesty, openness, transparency and fairness and to be proud of the values that they represent. Poor actions by a single individual can result in a great cost to firms, both financially and through loss of reputation, while fostering an environment of trust, integrity and professionalism leads to greater confidence, ultimately strengthening a firm’s reputation.
The topic was timely for Sri Lanka’s business context in which integrity and ethics have not received due prominence.
