With Adamantane House – the home of Institute of Chemistry Ceylon (www.ichemc.com) – and the College of Chemical Sciences in the background, Honorary Rector Prof. J.N.O. Fernando and Registrar of College of Chemical Sciences of ICHEMC N.I.N.S. Nadarasa pose with Dinuka Jayasooriya, the first student to be transferred to a US university under a collaboration initiated by Scholarships for USA (Pvt) Ltd. (www.scholarshipsforusa.com).

College of Chemical Sciences is the largest producer of graduate chemists in the island and the sole provider of chemistry technicians to the nation. Dinuka has been accepted by St. John’s University (www.csbsju.edu) in Central Minnesota with an excellent financial aid package and a very generous offer for transfer of credits.

As per its motto ‘Inspired Learning. Inspiring Lives,’ the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University has inspired many Lankan students to perform brilliantly there since Priyanthi Dissanayake (during her maiden visit in 2006) persuaded them to accept exceptional Lankan achievers with generous financial aid.

CSB and SJU are nationally leading liberal arts colleges whose unique partnership provides students with a highly engaged learning experience, preparing them for leadership in a global society. The student experience is enlivened by its Catholic and Benedictine traditions and an extraordinary sense of community.

Committed to make world’s best higher education increasingly affordable to Lankan stellar students, Scholarships for USA has brought nine such collaborations in the past, bringing the best higher education institutes of both nations continuously closer. Padmasena Dissanayake of Scholarships too joined the occasion.
