The Association of HR Professionals (HRP) recently concluded the career guidance project for the undergraduates attached to the science faculty of the University of Colombo. The project was successfully carried out as a CSR initiative of the association for the seventh consecutive year.

The Career Guidance Program for Colombo University was initiated by the Association after signing a MOU with the University in 2006. The main objective of the project is to support students to build competencies which are essential in enhancing the level of employability.

It is carried out as an elective course for the third year students and there were 273 students registered for the Career Guidance Program this year. The sessions were conducted over the past three months covering a wide range of topics related to the corporate world.

The final evaluations were not only limited to assessing students’ level of knowledge but on identified core competencies through an assessment centre as well.

This project would not have been successful without the support of the Members of HRP. Therefore, the Executive Committee of HRP take this opportunity to thank all the resource personnel for conducting sessions and for those who volunteered to support the assessment centre as facilitators.
