A culture of trust is the key to retaining talent in the Asia-Pacific region, according to research and consulting firm, Great Place to Work.
Great Place to Work’s annual study of Asia’s Best Workplaces research reveals that employees in the top 60 Best Workplaces in Asia believe managers behaving in a respectful way to be the most significant factor for employees to have the desire to remain in their current jobs.
In announcing the Best Companies in Asia, Great Place to Work CEO Michael Bush said, “Being on the list is more than being recognised as a Great Place to Work. A high-trust culture helps you attract people, improves your performance, retains your top talent, fosters innovation, and assures a sustainable business. Bottom-line, a Great Place to Work for All is better for business, because you’re developing the full human potential of everyone on your team.”
To help companies in Asia get a better understanding of how to improve, Great Place to Work launched the Best Workplaces in Asia Report 2017,The Importance of Trust, which includes the data from this year’s regional list, and in- depth analysis on which behaviours motivate employees the most. DHL (Keells) Ltd., and Hilton (Sri Lanka) were Sri Lankan organisations who contributed to their respective regional organisations ranking on the list. DHL topped the Best Multinationals list while Hilton was ranked third.
“Our 30 years of research shows that it is not perks and benefits that will get employees get up every morning ‘fired up’ to go to work and contribute fully, it is the quality of the relationships that they have with their managers, peers, and job,” Bush concluded.
