Taking a break through initiative in Management Learning industry, Monsoon Leisure and Adventure Lanka Ltd., which is a fully owned subsidiary of JobFactory Ltd., has commenced adventure learning facilitation through their four-man team (FMT) concept, which truly is a holistic approach to adventure learning.
The learning, based on a simple theory in management learning – comprehension-reflection-application – provides a platform for companies and organisations to reflect their desired comprehension of learning needs/goals in an adventurous environment and support them in application.
FMT assists companies and organisations to become more competitive in their respective business fields as four-man team focuses more on human psychology and latest organisational behavioural techniques.
The four-man team concept was originally conceptualised and implemented by Western armies to ensure high level of synergy when engaging their enemies in highly fluid battle scenarios with a high operational tempo. It is simple, flexible, fast and focused. The concept was effectively executed by Sri Lankan special forces especially during the humanitarian operations.
At Monsoon Leisure and Adventure, through four-man team learning, four-man team exploits the same concept focusing on achieving high level of synergy and communication amongst employees and facilitates companies to convert employee groups into teams.
A specialty with FMT is everyone can afford to have four-man team on their people development plan as they offer affordable prices especially for SMEs.
Madhushan Raigamage, who leads the four-man team, stated: “We are not just an adventure training provider in Sri Lanka. We diagnose the main issue existing in the client’s establishment and address the root cause. The program gets tailor-made thereafter.”
Madhushan is a reputed HR practitioner with over 18 years of experience and has served at Union Assurance and Hemas and in the Sri Lanka Army prior to joining the four-man team/JobFactory.
He is a Passed Finalist of IPM (Institute of Personnel Management) and is currently reading for his MBA at Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM). A qualified paratrooper who also was selected to be an Officer-Trainer in the Army, Madhushan has undergone many training programs local and overseas. He was trained in Malaysia on talent management and succession planning and awarded the ‘Best PQHRM Practitioner of year 2012 by IPM at the international HR Conference in 2012.
FMT is rich in location diversity as the learning sites cover various geographical and climatic variations in Sri Lanka, and the process adheres to four main principles in all types of learning solutions: End-to-end high level of safety; Flexibility to clients’ requirements; Simple approach; Green in all possible actions.
FMT currently offers adventure learning at Kitulgala, Kalatuwawa and Makeli-Oya (Bulathsinhala). Creating highly interesting scenarios, FMT inspires groups to get converted into teams. According to Madhushan the main specialty with FMT is that the entire program is seamlessly inter-linked and driven by scenarios like Navy SEALS, Predator Hunt, Bravo 20 and D-day Landing.
Speaking to the press upon conducting the 15th successful program, Madhushan stated: “We have successfully concluded 15 programs so far and general feedback has been that the program was far above clients’ expectations. It’s due to only one factor, which is none other than my resource panel, which again is a four-man team.”
