‘Managing and Marketing in a Globally Competitive New World Order’

The Postgraduate Institute of Management Alumni (PIMA), as part of its public interest programmes offered to today’s managers and especially for PIM Alumni members, conducts public lectures on current topics which will enable managers to learn from prominent personalities in the private and public sector, who have the wide experience and knowledge on the relevant subject.

PIMA plans to conduct its first public lecture of this year today, 21 June, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at PIM Auditorium under the topic of ‘Managing and Marketing in a Globally Competitive New World Order’ by Dr Dharma De Silva.

Dr. de Silva is Professor of International Business and Management at the Barton School of Business, Wichita State University, United States, where he has established and directs the International Business Programme with multidisciplinary units on campus and business community via the World Trade Council of Wichita linkage.

Dr. de Silva had his education in Sri Lanka at Mahinda College, England and USA receiving his Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD degrees.

 He has been a Fulbright Scholar at Harvard and Indiana; a Ford Fellow at Ohio State and Stanford; and a Visiting Professor at Indiana, Stanford, Wichita State and several European and Asian universities.

Dr. de Silva has served as a consultant to United Nations, ILO, APO (Japan). He is a past President of Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Science, President Ceylon-America Society, and President, Junior Chamber of Commerce.

PIM Director Professor Uditha Liyanage will act as Moderator of the session with Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority Chairman Dr. Nalaka Godahewa, Dipped Product PLC Managing Director Dr. Mahesha Ranasoma and hSenid Business Solutions Director/General Manager Sampatha Jayasundara, with their expertness in ‘Managing and Marketing in a Globally Competitive New World Order,’ will offer the participants rich experience on the subject during this two hour followed by a Q & A session.

PIM Alumni invites private and public sector managers, representatives of foreign missions and all other interesting parties to participate in this lecture series and update their knowledge to face future challenges.
