Course on ‘Media strategies for the corporate sector’

The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce together with the Sri Lanka Press Institute will conduct a three day course on ‘Media Strategies for the Corporate Sector’ during the month of May. The course is being held with the aim of enhancing the capacity of the local corporate sector professionals, engaged in handling public relations work for their respective companies, to effectively deal with the media to promote the firm and its products or services. Two of Sri Lanka’s experienced journalists, Nisthar Cassim, the Editor of the Daily FT and Amal Jayasinghe, Bureau Chief of AFP in Colombo will conduct the course. The course will cover areas such as, how to write a media release, handling media diplomacy, preparing press lines for a media conference, how to handle misreporting in the media about the firm, an understanding of the multiple of job roles existing in the news paper, such as the Editor, Associate Editor and Deputy Editor and also how to face an TV interview etc. The Sri Lanka Press Institute will provide a certificate to all the participants.
