The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) in its continuing efforts to provide the country’s upcoming professionals with the best of accounting qualifications and services, this week launched a special forum for students who have completed the Certified Business Accountant (CBA) program.
The inaugural ceremony of the newly launched CBA Members Forum was held at the institute’s Colombo 7, premises in the presence of 227 students who have obtained the CBA qualification offered by the institute.
CBA is a professional qualification that gives immense recognition to professionals, in the accountancy field employed in the private as well as the public sectors.
The qualification which is recognised by the Government, regulators and the corporate world in Sri Lanka, can be obtained by any student who has completed the Certificate in Accounting and Business (CAB II), the Licentiate Examination, Intermediate Examination of CA Sri Lanka’s accounting course along with three years of relevant work experience.
Addressing at the forum, CA Sri Lanka President Sujeewa Rajapakse, highlighted the continuous endeavoring offered by the institute with best qualifications to those engaged in the accountancy profession.
“Keeping this objective in mind, in 2010 the Institute launched the CBA qualification in our mission to help accountants to be on par with their global counterparts.
“Today’s competitive business world sees professionals looking to extend their qualification, at all areas, therefore, qualifications such as CBA offered by CA Sri Lanka, helps professionals enjoy that all important edge and be successful in their chosen professional careers,” Rajapakse said, while reiterating that the CBA is a qualification that is recognised by the Sri Lankan Government, regulators and the corporate world in Sri Lanka.
CA Sri Lanka Chief Executive Officer Aruna Alwis, while congratulating the 227 students who obtained the CBA qualification, stressed that the institute will continue in its endeavors to provide students and accounting professionals with the best of qualifications the accounting world has to offer.
He also noted that the Institute’s standing in the accounting world was obvious with the sheer number of students who are currently studying the chartered accounting course offered by CA Sri Lanka.
“CA Sri Lanka is one of the largest tertiary education providers in the country with over 40,000 students, who are currently following the chartered accounting course offered by our Institute, this alone is testament to our local and global standing in the accounting world,” he added.
