The awards ceremony of the Best Annual Report and Accounts Competition of national schools will be held on 27 October 2012 at 2.00 p.m. at the BMICH main hall.
The Chief Guest of this graceful national ceremony will be Bandula Gunawardhana, Minister of Education. Gamini Wijith Wijayamuni Zoysa, Deputy Minister of Education, Mohan Lal Grero, Monitoring MP of Education, Skills Development and Youth Affairs Ministry and Gotabhaya Jayaratne, Secretary to the Ministry of Education, will be the Guests of Honour.
This special national competition was inaugurated in 2008 by the Association of Accounting Technicians of Sri Lanka (AATSL) in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and is being held for the fifth consecutive time in this year.
The objective of this national endeavour is to enhance the quality of annual reports and financial statements of school development societies / committees of all national schools in order to encourage the highest level of transparency, accountability, productivity and good governance.
Participation of all national schools for this competition has been declared compulsory by the Minister of Education in 2009. 185 national schools have participated at this year’s competition. Winners will be awarded with plaques, cash prizes and certificates under following categories: national level – gold, silver and bronze and on a district level – district first, second and third.
Other schools will be given certificates of compliance, appreciation and acknowledgement.
The Association of Accounting Technicians of Sri Lanka (AATSL) together with the Ministry of Education invites all the national schools to witness this awards ceremony.
