The Australian Education Fair 2012 will be held at the Colombo Hilton Residence – Ball Room, on 8 Saturday and 9 Sunday September, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
It aims to target the Local and London A/L (Advance Level) students and Local and London O/L (Ordinary Level) students. In addition, we hope to attract a good number of postgraduate students, from both the private and public sectors.
A majority of the students heading to Australia are going for business and management, accounting, information technology, and engineering programs, both at university and college level. Higher education has shown to be a strong sector for the Sri Lankan students, with Victoria, New South Wales, Western Australia and Queensland being the most popular destinations.
IDP Sri Lanka the market leader for Australian bound students with the highest compliance rate in Australia (meaning, 85% of the students sent by IDP complete their course they went for) as advised by the Department of Immigration Australian High Commission office in Sri Lanka – with a 0% visa rejection rate in 2011. With IDP, each student who has been told that they can get a visa, has got a visa.
Objectives of the exhibition are to provide relevant and detailed information regarding foundation programs, undergraduate and postgraduate study opportunities in Australia to potential students; to provide current information concerning entry requirements, prerequisites and application procedures to potential students; to provide institutions to better understand the needs of the Sri Lankan students; and to provide students with accurate and up-to-date student visa information.
