Asian Alliance Insurance employee bags CII UK’s highest honour

Sithumina Jayasundara, Senior Manager (Reinsurance) at Asian Alliance Insurance PLC, of the senior management team, has been awarded the distinction of being the Best Sri Lankan Student 2012 by the Chartered Insurance Institute UK. This prestigious accolade which will be officially awarded at the International Insurance Congress scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka in November 2013, is proof of his capability, the depth of his knowledge in insurance and his dedication to aspire to be the best in his chosen field. Hailing from Kandy, Sithumina completed his primary education from St Anthony’s College Kandy. Prior to joining Asian Alliance Insurance in 2009, he served in various positions in the areas of Accounting, Reinsurance and Underwriting at Eagle Insurance, Janashakthi Insurance and MBSL. He was promoted to the position of Senior Manager Insurance at Asian Alliance in January 2012 and has added tremendous value to the company through his dynamism and proven technical and leadership skills. Over his 15-year career, he has earned a reputation for diligence and integrity and is affiliated to several local and international industry organizations. He is a Senior Associate of the Australia and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance and of the Chartered Insurance Institute of the UK. He holds a Diploma in Computer Studies. Sithumina also serves as the Treasurer of the Sri Lanka Insurance Institute.
