Ransalu Pranaama Worker Welfare Program enters phase four with the participation of the apparel giant-Brandix Lanka, which employs the largest number of highly skilled employees and specialist staff at their various niche facilities situated in different parts of the country.
Initiated by the Joint Apparel Association Forum (JAAF) with the concurrence of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce this program which was launched in January this year has so far benefitted nearly 25,000 employees and their families from 14 of the 250 chosen factories as a trial project.
The objective of this exercise is to provide economic relief and industry recognition to all those who are currently serving this sector in various responsibilities and tasks and to recognize their service and contribution, Mr. Tuli Cooray Secretary-General of JAAF explained.
Ransalu Pranaama is a welfare Card which the worker is entitled to, that gives price advantage over a number of essential household commodities, household goods, electrical appliances, personal care products, banking facilities, insurance packages, telecom services, footwear, clothing, medical services from more than 40 merchants registered with this program. Lake House Printers & Publishers is the official solution provider for the NFC Card project.
Popular among the merchants registered under this program are the network of Cargills Food City Outlets, Abans, Singer, DSI, Thilakawardena Textiles, CIB, No Limit, Glitz, Hameedia, Hayleys Consumer and Lighting Group, Swarnamahal, Litrogas, Laugfs Gas, Rainco, Lumala, Lanka Hospitals, David Pieris, 7Stories Ranjanas, Sizzles, Janashakthi Insurance, Ceylinco Insurance, eWis, SLT, Orient Insurance, P & G Products, Mobitel, Hutch, State Trading Corporation, Ceylon Hotels Corporation, Lionco, Metropolitant, Delmege Consumer, Unilever, Dreamron, Kingsbury Hotel, Siddhalepa Ayurveda, Anton Group, Mt. The card member can purchase items from the above merchant network enjoying special cash upfront discounts among other privileges.
After the brief event that was held to mark the formal handing over of cards to Brandix, the Secretary-General of JAAF, Tuli Cooray said “The card was introduced as a tribute to the people who have helped [the country] and contributed to the economy.”
Brandix provides apparel solutions to fashion super brands worldwide. The company employs over 47,000 associates across 42 manufacturing locations in Sri Lanka, India and Bangladesh. The card is launched to acknowledge the service provided by the Sri Lankan work force of the apparel giant, he stated.
While acknowledging the “special gift” given by the JAAF to associates of the entire apparel sector, the CEO of Brandix, Ashraf Omar said that these types of thoughtful measures goes a long way with the workers. They feel wanted and recognized, he added.
