AMW MD awarded with PIMA Platinum Honours

Associated Motorways (AMW) Group Managing Director Samantha Rajapaksa was awarded the prestigious Platinum Honours Award by the Postgraduate Institute of Management Alumni (PIMA) of Sri Jayewardenepura University, at the PIMA Platinum Award Ceremony held in Colombo recently.

PIMA Platinum Award Ceremony is conducted annually with the aim of encouraging the services of PIM graduates who have set benchmarks in their respective fields while contributing towards uplifting the society. Rajapaksa was presented with this prestigious award in recognition of his professional excellence in the field of management.

He has a track record of over 26 years of increasing responsibility in diverse business organisations, both local and overseas, with specialisation in strategic planning, business development, organisational change management and marketing.

Upon receiving the award, Rajapaksa said: “I am honoured to be a recipient of this prestigious award from PIMA. It is always very special to be recognised by your peers and very proud to be an alumni member of the Postgraduate Institute of Management.”

Rajapaksa is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka), the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants of UK, and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing of UK. He also holds an MBA from the University of Sri Jayawardenapura.

Rajapaksa began his career at Ernst & Young and went on to serve as Informatics International Director/GM, Central Finance Co. PLC CF Venture Fund Group Director Director/Chief Executive Officer, AT&T Inc. USA Senior Project Manager and Kshatriya Holdings PLC Group Director.

He was also the Softlogic Group Director and Softlogic Communications Ltd., Director/Chief Executive Officer responsible for the Nokia distributorship and business development initiatives. In addition to his role at AMW, Samantha is also a Director of Asiri Hospitals Holdings PLC and Asiri Surgical Hospital PLC.
