Akash bags PQHRM – HR Professional of the Year award

Akash Hettiarachchi, Manager Human Resource and Administration at MAS Intimates Slimline Division emerged as the PQHRM – HR Professional of the Year for 2013 at the National HR Conference. Organised by the Institute of Personal Management (IPM), this year’s conference was held at Waters Edge on 18 June 2013.
The PQHRM – HR Professional of the Year award is an initiative to reward individuals who exemplify excellence in their chosen careers through academic achievement. The award further recognises the organisational and social obligations fulfilled by the individual.
Akash started his career as a finance professional with a Bachelor of Commerce Special in Accountancy. However he soon realised his forte and passion lay in managing people. He has been in the field of HR for the past seven years. Whilst furthering his academic and professional knowledge on human resource by completing PQHRM, he also successfully completed his Master of Business Administration from Cardiff Metropolitan University (UK).
Joining MAS in 2007, Akash has worked in several MAS Intimates facilities (Thurulie and Slimline). His has contributed to the organisation in all aspects of human resource by creating innovative and sustainable growth, and being a strategic business partner to improve the business growth. He is passionate about creating value through HR to enhance the skill and knowledge levels of all categories of employees, whilst contributing to organizational development.
Akash believes that the success of every organisation depends on its HR value proposition and the people centric culture where you support employees to grow with the business.
