Foundations in Accountancy: Foundations in Accountancy is a new suite of entry-level qualifications that focus on the core skills of financial and management accounting and also includes a module in professionalism. This new suite of qualifications awards certificates, diplomas, advanced diplomas and a degree. The syllabuses span the key elements of financial and management accounting at all levels offered, and also include an Accountant in Business exam at the Diploma level, which puts students’ new knowledge into a legal, economic and regulatory context
The aim of these awards is to provide even greater access to the ACCA qualification and offer individuals a flexible range of qualifications which will help them develop the relevant technical knowledge and practical skills required to perform an accounting technician’s role. This means that with Foundations in Accountancy, students will benefit from the flexible range of entry points, meaning they can begin at the right level for them, and then progress through the awards. And when it comes to flexibility, they can complete qualifications in their own time, selecting those which best suit their own career needs and aspirations. Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) is open to students over 16 years of age with exams comprising of 9 papers and it complements the A/L exemptions from part 1 of the ACCA Professional Scheme Experience- 1 year relevant practical experience during, before or after exams.
ACCA Professional Qualification is open to Post A/L students and graduates who want to purse a globally mobile career as finance professional. The exams comprise of 14 papers, 9 of which are available for exemptions achievements. Students also need to complete an online ethics module and .three years of relevant practical experience during, before or after exams prior to applying for membership.
BSc (Hons) in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University UK -Students who complete the first 9 papers of ACCA examinations can submit a research project and complete an ethics module in order to obtain the degree. The Degree is offered by the Oxford Brookes University and the marks of the ACCA examinations papers are taken in to account when awarding the degree.
