The AAT Business School recently concluded one of the most successful seminars of its calendar on ‘Sri Lanka Accounting Standards for Smaller Entities’ with full house participants including members as well as non-members.
It can be considered as one of the most fruitful events in the calendar after the seminar on ‘Budget Proposals 2016’ held in November 2015. The eminent resource personnel at the seminar were Saman Siri Lal, Partner – Audit and Assurance and Risk Management, BDO partners and Updendra Wijesinghe – Head of Technical, CA Sri Lanka two top industry experts in this particular field.
The adoption of Sri Lanka Accounting Standards for Smaller Entities is considered to be a major breakthrough for SMEs in Sri Lanka as the availability of a common, accepted set of accounting and financial reporting standards is seen as a way forward to bring in ‘more credibility’ to financial reporting in the sector in keeping with global trends in the profession.
The AAT Business School continuously strives in organising similar seminars and workshops to give out the best to participants and to disseminate the revised and the latest amended standards and content. The Business School would also set the stage to bring all the members and non-members to one forum by organising more programs and workshops in the future.
AAT Sri Lanka President Lalith T. Fernando, Vice President JMUB Jayasekara and Chairman AAT Business School Lakshman Abeysekera graced the seminar as special invitees.
