The Women’s Chamber of Industry & Commerce (WCIC) and Zonta Club II of Colombo in collaboration with Women in Logistics and Transport (WiLAT) conducted a personality development workshop for undergraduates at the Kothalawala Defense University on 30 January.
WCIC Board Member and member of Zonta Club II of Colombo Nayana Karunaratne, well known hair and beauty specialist and image building consultant, conducted the workshop. Over 200 undergraduates and staff members took part at the workshop.
Karunaratne explain key attributes of personality and how an individual should focus to improve one’s own personality. She further explained that the role of universities is not only to develop academically sound undergraduates but also rounded personalities to improve employability. WiLAT Founding Chairperson and WCIC Board Member Gayani de Alwis addressing the gathering stressed the importance of personality development and thanked Zonta for sponsoring this useful workshop. She stressed that programs of this nature would help develop confidence among the undergraduates and improve employability. Dinakshi Fonseka, student member from KDU representing WiLAT, gave the vote of thanks.
