The Indian High Commission has announced a series of undergraduate, postgraduate and research/PhD scholarships in India and their closing date for applications has been extended.
It said the last date for applying for the following scholarship schemes.
1) Nehru Memorial Scholarship Scheme: Under this scheme, it covers all undergraduate courses (except Medical/Paramedical and Fashion Design courses), including Engineering, Science, Business, Economics, Commerce, Humanities and Arts.
2) Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship Scheme: Undergraduate courses in the field of ‘Information Technology’ leading to a B.E or B.Tech Degree.
3) Maulana Azad Scholarship Scheme: Masters degrees courses (except Medical/Paramedical and Fashion Design courses) including Engineering, Science, Economics, Commerce, Humanities and Arts. However, preference would be given to the fields of Engineering, Science and Agriculture.
4) Commonwealth Scholarship Scheme: PhD Degrees in all subjects except Medical/ Paramedical and Fashion Design course, provided by the Government of India; has been extended to 15 May 2021. The students who could not apply before the earlier deadline of 20 April 2021 may do so before the fresh deadline.
The necessary details are available on the website of Ministry of Education, at www.mohe.gov.lk. Prospective students are advised to approach the Ministry of Education or High Commission of India – Colombo to learn more about the eligibility criteria and selection procedure.
