Teejay Lanka PLC has announced the resignation of Sriyan de Silva Wijeyeratne as the Managing Director/CEO, and the appointment of Shrihan Perera as his successor.
The Company said Wijeyeratne had shared his desire to step down from his role, due to personal reasons. However, he will facilitate the transition during the rest of his tenure until he steps down from the Board and the Company on 3 July.
Perera, whose appointment is effective 1 May, was previously the CEO of Brandix Knit Apparel Division and had been with Brandix for over eight years. Prior to that, he was the National Finance Director of Unilever Sri Lanka.
Teejay also said that within the Group, Pubudu de Silva and Rodney Arland have been promoted as Deputy CEOs, and will work closely with Perera to continue the strong growth momentum. The Company thanked Wijeyeratne for his valuable contribution towards the company’s growth, and expressed confidence that under Perera’s leadership, the team will drive Teejay to a strong and sustainable future.
