The 41st Annual General Meeting of the Sri Lanka Association of Administrative and Professional Secretaries (SLAAPS) was held at the Mandarina Hotel, Colombo 3 on a grand scale with the attendance of a large membership who was hosted to a scrumptious lunch.
SLAAPS will be hosting the 25th Congress of the Association of Secretaries and Admin Professionals in Asia Pacific (ASA) in 2020, 20 years after the Association hosted the 14th Congress.
ASA was founded in 1974, in Manila, by Virginia P. Elbinias, the then incumbent President of the Philippine Association of Secretaries, to provide an opportunity for secretaries and admin professionals in and around Asia, to meet and share their knowledge and experience. An ASA Congress is held biennially and it is hosted by one of the member associations on a rotation basis according to seniority of their membership in ASA.
Ruveena Cader of The Capital Maharaja Organization Ltd. was elected as President of SLAAPS and ASA for the years 2019/20 along with the following office bearers:
Azra Reyaldeen, Secretary to Ministry of Telecommunication, Foreign Affairs and Sports was elected Chairperson/Vice President
Gayanee De Alwis of Ocean Edge Suites Colombo and Sandra Thomasz of Monarch Commercials Ltd., as Vice Presidents
Anusha Fernando of CBL Food International Ltd., as Secretary
Shamila Kalupahana of Seylan Bank as Treasurer
Mayani Priyanka of National Savings Bank as Asst. Secretary and Ruchira Yapa Abeywardena of China CAMC Engineering Company as Asst. Treasurer.
Delanie Jayesuria, Rukshani Fernando, Chandima Fernando, Suchintha Liyanage, Neranjala Gunathilake, Renuka Perera, Nilanthi Perera Palihawadana, Shireen Rajee and Niroshi Abeydeera were elected as Committee Members.
