CIMA Business Leaders’ Summit 2018, the annual flagship event organised by CIMA Sri Lanka, will unfold on the 28 & 29 August at Shangri La Colombo, under the theme ‘From insight to impact: unlocking opportunities’. The inauguration will be held on 28 August from 6.30 pm onwards. The Chief Guest will be Science, Technology, Research, Skills Development, Vocational Training and Kandyan Heritage Minister Dr Sarath Amunugama. The keynote will be delivered by former Axiata Malaysia Berhad CFO Chari TVT.
The thought leadership sessions will be held on 29 August from 8.30am – 4.30pm, featuring presentations from reputed international and local speakers, and where a host of C-Suite professionals will deliberate on current and relevant topics.
Session 4, on ‘Psychological Impact of the Era of Digital Disruption’, focuses on the sensitive aspect of adopting change, the importance of leadership through the change, the pitfalls to avoid, and the success recipe to get it right. Handling people and their fears is the toughest challenge for businesses today. Xtrategize Technologies Co-Founder & Partner Boonsiri Somchit-Ong (FCMA, CGMA) will deliver the speech covering the above.
Somchit-Ong is a highly accomplished finance and operations professional with over three decades of experience. She has held senior leadership positions in several multinational companies including, Motorola, Komag and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD). Her presentation will be followed by a panel discussion, where industry experts will share their experience in managing change in the best way, and advise senior managers as well as young professionals in the audience on change management, managing fear, emotional intelligence etc.
The session will be moderated by Virtusa Senior HR Director Chandi Dharmaratne.
