The Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM), the nation’s management mentor, conducted its second Doctoral Colloquium on 25 August at PIM.
A unique feature of this year’s colloquium was the introduction of the ‘Three Minute Thesis Competition’ for the first time in Sri Lanka. A crucial requirement of such competition is to make the audience understand the contribution of the research and its significance within less than three minutes.
Prof. Dharmasri Wickremasinghe, Vice Chancellor of the University of Vocational Technology, who is also an alumnus of PIM, was the Chief Guest. Together with PIM Director Prof. Ajantha Dharmasiri, Dr. Nilakshi Galahitiayawa, Dr. Gayan Jayakody Dr. A. K. L. Jayewardena and Prof. J.A.S.K. Jayakody played a key role in making this colloquium a reality.
The aim of the colloquium was to strengthen management research at PIM, which is also one key pillar in our edifice of excellence which will make PIM a center of management excellence in South Asia. The colloquium was a great opportunity fordoctoral candidates to presenttheir research proposals inorder to receive critical and constructive feedback from an expert panel.
