National Human Resources Development Council of Sri Lanka (NHRDC) together with Ruhuna University, Matara District Secretariat, YouLead, CareerMe, Chamber of Commerce, Man Power Department and Tertiary and Vocational Educational Commission (TVEC) organized a career fair and a career motivational program at the Ruhuna University recently.
The invitees of the program included job seekers and school leavers. Around 1500 participants and 40 companies with 12 training institutions attended the program. The focus was to facilitate job-seekers connecting with employers – it was an opportunity to meet one another, establish professional relationships, and discuss potential job and/or internship opportunities.
The program included a career motivational session followed by a career fair at the Science Faculty Auditorium. A career Assessment Test was conducted at the same place with the support of CareerMe to help the young job seekers understand the current market requirements. The key note speech were delivered by University of Ruhuna Vice Chancellor Prof. Sujeewa Amarasena. Director Dr. K.A. Lalithadeera and Assistant Director S. Thanigaseelan, Research Officer T. Senthilnathan with other staff participated.
