Marketing and brand specialist Hashan Haputhanthri has been awarded the ‘Deshamanya’ title for the imminent service he rendered to the marketing, sales and brand management education in Sri Lanka.

His service to the education sector by offering underprivileged areas to sell their products free-of-charge was the key highlight. Hashan conducted more than 60 programs of such nature.
Hashan is an award-winning imminent marketer, brand management veteran, author of Asia’s first Brand Management Philosophy (Travis Brandsology), Co-Author for five international books, Business Turnaround specialist, Game Theorist, Founder of fourth Personality of a human (Hidden Ignitable Domain), IGNITE Motivational Programme, the SMILE campaign and the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing’s (SLIM) Diploma in Strategic Brand Management syllabus with a practical approach (which is Sri Lanka’s first), Senior International/Local Trainer, lecturer, motivator, Fellow of SLIM and member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Master of Science (Marketing), practicing Marketer (SL), certified Professional Marketer (Asia Pacific) and Diploma in Marketing (SLIM/SL).
“I never expected this award. But somewhere down the line, I was recognised by the community. It was a great fact to remember and to be happy with. For my 28 years of experience in all arenas helped me to achieve this. Marketing and branding education is key to this country, where it has to be given in the most practical way. I have done that many times and I am so happy for what I have achieved,” Hashan said.
In 2015, he was awarded as one of the top Marketers in the World Marketing Congress. He addressed the 2018 World Marketing Congress by highlighting the Asian Marketing Philosophies vs European Marketing Theories. It was the key highlight in the program. Also, he has conducted many training programs in Bangladesh, India, Australia, Fiji and in Malaysia for Sales and Marketing.
