CCC CEO/Director Sanith de Silva Wijeyeratne was selected for a program on ‘Executive Education for Sustainable Leadership’ conducted by Harvard University’s T.H. Chan School of Public Health
Harvard University’s T.H. Chan School of Public Health conducted a program on ‘Executive Education for Sustainable Leadership’ and selected Carbon Consulting Company (CCC) CEO/Director Sanith de Silva Wijeyeratne as one of a small group of global sustainability leaders to attend the program.
The exclusive executive education course focused on organisational design to optimise and accelerate impact for sustainability and innovation, and frameworks to unleash the flow of purpose-driven ideas from inception to scale. With research from Global CEOs on the future of leadership, biological intelligence that can inform leadership, and a variety of real world case stories that bring idea flow to life, the event was highly suited with the prevalence of a climate crisis that requires robust action.
Even though Sri Lanka is a country with minimum carbon emissions, it ranks second in the Global Climate Risk Index, and thus it is apparent that regardless of a country’s respective emissions, the impacts of climate change is felt globally without borders, and urgent action is crucial. This workshop was tailored to provide tools required for problem solving to fit present complex times, and its many challenges.
“Being among such a global group of remarkable sustainability professionals was truly humbling,” remarked Sanith de S. Wijeyeratne. “The course itself features some exciting tools and insights from exceptionally talented faculty members that enabled many of us to re-look at many of our day to day issues with fresh eyes. The global outlook on climate change is not favourable – and we only have a very short time to change it. This program at Harvard has better equipped us all to be agents of that change”
The program was led by remarkable world-class presenters, including Leith Sharp – Director and Faculty Lead, Executive Education for Sustainability Leadership, Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health; Malcolm Preston – former Partner and Global Leader, Sustainability and Climate, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Dr. Dayna Baumeister – Co-founder, Biomimicry; Anne-Claire Berg – Global Culture and Engagement Director, Danone; and Mathew Kamakani Lynch – Director of Sustainability Programs, University of Hawaiʻi.
