The Institute of Chartered Professional Managers of Sri Lanka (CPM Sri Lanka), the leading professional body for chartered professional managers in Sri Lanka, will organise its 25th milestone presentation of Evening For Managers (EFM), the most admired event of the institute.
The EFM webinar presentations have proved very popular with the members because CPM Sri Lanka has been consistently able to invite high profile presenters with something valuable to say.
People gathered around this flagship event in numbers, believing that they can gain and explore insights into their career, life and organisations. The feedback and participant engagements also prove that CPM Sri Lanka’s effort is highly appreciated.
The upcoming presentation will discuss the ‘21st Century Phenomena of Social Media – Friend and Foe’ on Thursday, 29 July, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., marking the 25th webinar in the presentation series.
President of the Institute Prof. Lakshman R. Watawala will welcome the guests.
Ogilvy Media, Ogilvy Digital and Redworks Managing Director Lalith Sumanasiri will deliver the keynote presentation about social media platforms which is related to our lives and never has communication of ideas been as fast as it is today and if anything, it is becoming even faster.
Formal print channels find it hard to compete with the lightning speed of Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. However as in everything, in social media too, it is important to be mindful of both the multiple advantages and disadvantages.
Roar Global Facebook ASP Vice President – Client Success Udara Dharmasena and Attorney at Law Charith Galhena will join as panellists to push boundaries of this discussion and add even more valuable facts because responsible use of communication tools can help society to exchange information quickly, in every sphere of life globally, removing geographic boundaries.
Social media is now an essential component of our lives but we confront many areas of doubt and uncertainty such as what is social media and what are its features; how is it used by companies and individuals; how should its strength be used in times of crisis.
This discussion will be moderated by CPM Sri Lanka Governing Council Member, Chairman of Education and Training Committee and Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation AGM, Bancassurance and Alternate Distribution Roshan Collas.
Participants can access the webinar free of charge. CPM Sri Lanka invites interested participants to register for this webinar emailing [email protected] or contact CPM Secretariat on 011 2 590 995.
CPM Sri Lanka is engaged in the conduct of professional management diploma programmes, executive management development programs, knowledge sharing sessions, research forums, international management conferences, release of bi-annual management journals and organizing various other networking events for its members and well-wishers.
