CIPM Sri Lanka – the nation’s leader in human resource management has organised the Great HR Charity Walk & Carnival on 26 January from CIPM Sri Lanka Head Office at ‘HR House’ in Polhengoda, Colombo 5 to Campbell Park in Borella. The Great HR Charity Walk & Carnival is a walk with a purpose which will fulfil CIPM Sri Lanka’s quest to set the trend for imparting social justice.
“CIPM Sri Lanka as a responsible corporate citizen has an obligation to contribute towards achieving a more equitable and socially inclusive society. Accordingly, the net proceeds from the Great HR Charity Walk & Carnival will be utilised for CIPM Sri Lanka’s social justice project ‘Play for All’. The objective of the ‘Play for All’ social justice project is to upgrade existing children’s parks to include play equipment that would also cater to differently-able children,” said CIPM Sri Lanka President Dhammika Fernando.
“The children’s park that has been selected to be upgraded under the Play for All social justice program is the children’s park at the BRC grounds in Colombo. From the total net proceeds of the event, CIPM Sri Lanka will install inclusive equipment and build infrastructure necessary to convert it to an inclusive park. We invite all members of CIPM Sri Lanka, our students, the HR fraternity and the general public to be part of this magnanimous social justice project while giving and receiving positive values from being a part of it,” he added.
The CIPM Great HR Walk & Carnival offers a fun-filled evening with many prizes, surprises, games and competitions, including personal photographs and entertainment. It will also be an opportunity to build and renew relationships and networks, foster fellowship and camaraderie.
CIPM was founded in 1959 and was subsequently incorporated by an Act of Parliament in 1976. CIPM is affiliated to the Asia Pacific Foundation of Human Resource Management and to the World Federation of People Management Associations. CIPM, being a professional institute is also a constituent member of the Organization of Professional Associations [OPA] Sri Lanka. Currently, CIPM comprises of over 1,200 Professional Members who serve in both public and private organisations. It was elevated to Chartered Status by the Parliament of Sri Lanka on the 28 September 2018 by amending the original act of establishment.
