The continuing series of Knowledge Forums organised by CA Sri Lanka’s Young Chartered Accountants Forum (YCAF) has helped young chartered accountants to move out of their comfort zones and excel in their careers.

During the most recent Knowledge Forum which featured Niranjan de Silva, a professional coach, trainer and mentor with over three decades of industry experience, the forum focused on career development for young chartered accountants.

Guest speaker, Niranjan de Silva, a professional coach, trainer and mentor addressing young CAs

Addressing over 150 CAs, de Silva highlighted the need to have a personal vision and mission if one was to achieve success. He also elaborated on how professionals can incorporate the Japanese Kaizan concept and make small improvements in their day to day life, which can result in their overall personal improvement.

During the forum, de Silva also shared the importance of inculcating excellent communication skills which, he noted, was an important factor for any person whether they are engaged in business, sports or even in a beauty pageant.  He also urged the younger generation of professionals to demonstrate better discipline in terms of being more punctual, returning calls, be better organised and also learn how to walk the talk. YCAF formed in 2009 aims to help uplift young CAs, under the age of 40, while also endeavouring to enhance the public image of Chartered Accountants.
