The Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) has launched a new Certificate Course in Company Secretarial Practice. This is the fourth Online Certificate Course being conducted by the BASL.
The course commenced on 14 October and comprises a highly distinguished panel of legal experts, who will conduct lectures over a period of 10 weeks, every Wednesday afternoon on the Zoom platform.
The experts as resource persons will include retired Supreme Court Judge Saleem Marsoof, PC, Chandaka Jayasundera, PC, Vinothini Amarasekera, AAL, Rajaratnam Selvaskandan, AAL, Dedunie De Silva, AAL, Dilrukshi Gunawardena, AAL, Nirusha Ranjith Kumar Ranatunga, AAL, Geethani Athurupana, AAL, Tharanga Panditha Sundara, AAL, M. D Heshan S. Mathugamage, AAL, and Commercial Bank of Ceylon Company Secretary Pramith Rajapaksha.
Speaking about this Certificate Course, BASL Secretary Rajeev Amarasuriya said: “Many Attorneys-at-Law are engaged in the area of company secretarial practice, and many more are interested in specialising in this area and it was this that prompted the BASL to formulate the Online Certificate Course in Company Secretarial Practice. The response has been very positive, and it is the objective of the BASL to use technology to the fullest in providing quality legal education to its membership as well as those others interested in joining.”
