The Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM) conducted its second international management program in Japan jointly with the International University of Japan (IUJ). This program revolved around public sector management of Japan with its authentic blend of tradition and technology.
The participants, while learning the conceptual and theoretical aspects of management in the classroom sessions, were also brought into contact with public and private sector management experts in Japan. Participants had the opportunity to visit the Parliament of Japan (National Diet of Japan), Tokyo Stock Exchange, Subaru Car Factory, Kanazawa Recyclable Resource Centre and Plant, Minamiuonuma City Office, Niigata City Prefectual Government Office, Monotsukuri University, Tojiro hand-made and fully automated knife plants and the NTT History Centre of Technologies. The program was in line with the PIM’s strategic partnership building initiated by PIM Director Prof. Ajantha S. Dharmasiri. The program in its entirety was coordinated by PIM Faculty Member and Management Consultant Dilhan V. Goonetilleke.
