The strongest industry-linked MBA in Sri Lanka, the Staffordshire University MBA at Asia Pacific Institute of Technology (APIIT), will power the coveted 4th Top 50 Professional and Career Women Annual Conference to be staged at The Kingsbury on 9 November.
The founder of the program Dr. Sulochana Segera commenting on the event said: “We will be staging the movers and shakers of industry in Sri Lanka on the theme ‘Empowered Women for a Resilient Future’. The highest foreign exchange earners for Sri Lanka comes from women – be it apparel, tea, cinnamon or the expatriate workers in the Middle East. The Keynote will be delivered by top professional Dr. Mohan Kaul who is known globally as a cutting-edge policy advisor, business leader, social entrepreneur and champion for international trade and investment in emerging markets.
Over the past 30 years Dr. Kaul has built a strong network with presidents and heads of governments across continents leading over 50 high level initiatives and forums involving heads of governments, senior ministers and top business leaders across South Asia and Africa. A proponent on foreign investments, the countries that have benefited from his FDI initiatives are Ghana, India, Sierra Leone, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Uganda and Tanzania.
In the area of trade he has been successful in building Public-Private Partnerships, reducing the digital divide, facilitating WTO market access and integrating economies to the global market. One of the key highlights was the links between Commonwealth countries and the European Union which led to the liberalisation of trade and practical onitiatives such as the Boksburg Group on Yradr Facilitation, the formation of the Commonwealth-EU round table led by Baroness Ashton.
