The Institute of Supply and Materials Management, the pioneer institute promoting supply chain education and training in Sri Lanka established in 1972, conducted its 26th Convocation to award the Graduate Diplomas in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management to 44 students who successfully completed the gruelling 15 modules 3 year course.
The Convocation was held on 23 December 2017 at the BMICH on a grand scale. Dr. Jayantha Lal Rathnasekara, Vice Chancellor of the Uva Wellassa University graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The Guest of Honour was Dr. K.G.A. Udayakumara, Dean-Faculty of Management, Rajarata University, Mihintale.
Out of 44 students nine graduated with 1st division passes and six graduated with 2nd division passes. The Capt V. T. D. Amaratunga SLN Memorial Award for the Best Student was won by Sayuru Dilhara Adikari, Logistic Analyst of Hayleys Advantis 3PL Plus, the S.A.P. Rupesinghe Memorial Award for the 2nd Best Student was won by H.M.R. Lakshika Perera, Purchasing Executive, Paradise Toys Ltd., and the Gp. Capt. A.H. Puvimanasinghe Memorial Award for the 3rd Best Student was won by S.A. Sahan Chanaka, Executive – Logistics, Wurth Lanka Ltd.
